I got this message after rebooting my Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS:

*** /dev/xvda1 should be checked for errors ***

Solutions:

1. Perform force fsck on next boot:

touch /forcefsck

1. Delete it:

sudo rm /var/lib/update-notifier/fsck-at-reboot
